Deb Toering, LPC, BCPCC, ADHD-CCSP
Deb Toering is a Board-Certified Professional Christian Counselor (BCPCC) in private practice at Trinity Family Counseling Center. In addition to working with a wide range of client populations and presenting issues, Deb is also an engaging public speaker. She has spoken in front of various groups across a range of topics including marriage, bullying, ADHD, and teen leadership.
No matter the issue or problem that brings you into counseling, Deb wants you to know that there is always help—and there is always hope.
You cannot change the past, but you can rewrite your story by finding meaning in it. Your past need not control the present or dictate your future. Deb can help you set goals toward change and help you break destructive relationship patterns. She believes that learning the truth about yourself and God can change the way you think, change the way you feel, and change the way you act.
Married over 37 years with three adult children, Deb has decades of real life experience in the marital and parenting departments. As a Christian, she has also been blessed with the wisdom that comes from God’s truth, the Bible. It is the truth that can set us free to live life as it was intended to be lived.

Deb’s specific areas of experience, expertise, and passion are:
Women's Issues
Deb is passionate about helping her female clients find a healthy, true, view of themselves regardless of what events have caused them to feel damaged, depressed, or worthless. Events such as bullying, sexual or verbal abuse, failed relationships, or any life transition can impact how we see ourselves. Looking at the truth about ourselves and our circumstances can provide much needed healing.
Marriage / Couples Counseling
Married for over 37 years, Deb brings a very practical approach to marital problems. She can work with one spouse if the other is not interested in counseling, or ideally, with both spouses. If one person is willing to make changes, it can have a powerful effect on the relationship. She knows how a lack of communication or inability to resolve conflict affects a marriage. Couples are often stuck because they have been unable to talk through hurts, don’t understand how to love their partner, or cannot find it within themselves to forgive.
ADHD
Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder is often misunderstood and misdiagnosed and can affect our sense of identity, our mental health, our finances, relationships, and work. Life can feel overwhelming for someone who struggles with inattention, disorganization, forgetfulness or procrastination. Deb brings a very personal understanding to her counseling in this area and is passionate about helping children and their parents, adults, and couples.
Teens and Young Adults
Having raised three children of her own, Deb understands how difficult the teen years can be. Teens can find clarity by talking through the issues of peer pressure, bullying, dating, and the normal tensions with parents. She also loves working with college age students and young adults as they navigate career choices, dating relationships and their desire for independence.
